Rick Raesz

 
 

 

Rick Raesz, pronounced "Race" is a Air Race and Airshow Pilot for the Trojan Phlyers Racing Team.

Rick is 50 years old and was born in Taylor, Texas.   Rick is the owner of RCOM Corporation, www.rcomcorp.com ,. with subsidiaries of  Zaltana Sales, www.zaltanasales.com .  Rick attended the University of Texas and is a licensed Electrical and Computer Engineer. 

Rick has been in business for himself for over 28 years but has followed his true love of aviation and Air Racing since he was a teenager. He was one of the original founders of the Trojan Phlyers group that started in 1993.  Rick made his Air Racing debut in the Phoenix 500 Air Races in 1995 winning third place in the newly formed T-28 Race Class. Rick earned his Unlimited Pylon Racing License in Reno 1995 and went on to become the 1998 National T-28 Air Race Champion at the Reno National Championship Air Races.

Rick grew up around aviation, earning all of his ratings as a teenager. Rick is a civilian trained pilot with over 4000 hours in over 40 different aircraft. He currently holds a Commercial Pilot License with instrument and multi engine privileges along with a rating in the North American T-28 Trojan.

Rick's sons serve as his copilots and share a common love of flight. Alex (22) and Benjamin (18). Alex has soloed and holds a student pilots certificate and is working to complete his Private Rating and plans on a career in aviation,  Benjamin is Senior at Boswell High School in Saginaw, TX and is a computer wizard.  Alex and Ben work with Rick in the family business.  They are a high energy, high flying family. 

Rick was honored to be selected out of hundreds of pilot candidates from Texas to represent the grand state at the 100th anniversary of powered flight in Kitty Hawk, NC on December 17, 2003.  He was chosen to fly a Texas flag given to him by Governor Rick Perry  to the site where aviation began in participation of the 50 Flags to Kitty Hawk Celebration. http://www.countdowntokittyhawk.com/news/031130_tx.html
